A Grade 12 student at Mount Douglas Secondary School on Vancouver Island, Emilia is delighted to serve as a Student Writer for the ECF. Enchanted as a child by the untouched countryside of Eastern Europe, Emilia has since nurtured environmental initiatives in her community, organizing over 30 environmental workshops in her school district this past year for students in elementary and middle school. Through the ECF, she hopes to combine her love for writing and environmental education to raise awareness and fuel long-lasting change. Outside of the ECF and school, Emilia can typically be found studying at the library, volunteering at the hospital, or painstakingly practicing the flute.
